One of the most common questions people ask me is, "what inspires you?" or some variation of "how do you get/stay inspired to create."
The answer is complicated, or maybe it's simple. But the answer is that it is different every single day.
Today, this morning, it is snowing outside. I love snow, I love winter, and I love cold weather. From my back porch I can see five, giant, white egrets a short distance away. With the snow, they look even more absolutely gorgeous than usual.
I have crisp, festive jazz playing, which is my favorite winter music. This is it. This is perfect inspiration for this gorgeous winter day.
In about one month, what inspires me will be totally different. It may be totally different tomorrow, but for right now, in this perfect moment, I am inspired.
